Ed, Edd n Eddy

Marlene of the Deep is a comic book that belongs to Ed. It is first seen in "Little Ed Blue," where Eddy reads it to Ed in an attempt to cheer him up. Nothing is revealed about the plot of the comic except for one quote: "Its tentacles tightened, sucking the marrow–". Before Eddy could finish the sentence, Ed slammed the book into Eddy's face, leaving a comic strip imprint.

The title and the quote suggest that the plot may be about a colossal tentacled aquatic monster; possibly in the horror/sci-fi genre.

In "Little Ed Blue," the comic book opens from left to right, similar to a manga (Japanese comics, which are read right-to-left) versus an American comic book. The comic reappears on Ed's bed in "Boom Boom Out Goes the Ed". However in that episode, the comic book opens from right to left.

Trivia[]

  • The title is likely a reference to Marlene Robinson May, a sheet director and supervising animation director for much of the series.
