The Soda Bottle Refund was a scam the Eds tried in both "Dawn of the Eds" and "For the Ed, by the Ed." In it, the Eds gathered empty soda bottles so they could recycle them for money. In "Dawn of the Eds," they accomplished this by having Ed fish out bottles from a dumpster. Before they could cash in the bottles, however, Ed got distracted by a poster for Robot Rebel Ranch, and the trio turned their attention to getting into the theater to see the movie.
The same scheme was performed again in "For the Ed, by the Ed." There, they were seen drinking bottles in a backyard to turn them in. Soon, though, they were interrupted by Jonny and Jimmy, who were declaring Plank as the king of the cul-de-sac. This distracted Eddy, and he abandoned the scam again so he could attempt to be elected the king of the cul-de-sac.
