"Read All About Ed" is the 8th episode of Season 1 of Ed, Edd n Eddy. In this episode, Eddy finds out Edd is doing a paper route and realizes how much money he could make through just one paper route. After Eddy orders a lot of papers, the Eds all try to deliver the papers through the route to make lots of money, however it becomes too difficult to do so by hand. In an attempt to make things easier, Edd builds a machine that will deliver the newspapers more easily and neatly. This makes things easier for them at first, but it later becomes too much for them to handle.

The episode starts off early in the morning in the Cul-de-Sac. It then goes to Eddy's house. Eddy is shown sleeping in his bed. Eddy, who is dreaming, states, "Oh no no who else? Of course!". He then grabs the tissue box and says, "I accept this award on behalf of myself.". Suddenly everything around Eddy's room starts to shake. The shaking soon wakes Eddy up and Eddy becomes extremely nervous at what is causing the shaking. Eddy then throws the covers and hides his face in his pillow in an attempt to go back to sleep, but the shaking becomes too loud for Eddy to ignore. Eddy then moves himself and his pillow onto a different part of his bed to try to get back to sleep, but that doesn't work either. Eddy then opens his eyes and sees that whatever is causing the shaking is not from inside. After Eddy gets out of bed, he uncontrollably does the splits and moves to the right without moving his feet. He then gets hit by a rolling chair which knocks him into the window. Eddy opens the blinds. It then shows Rolf mowing Eddy's lawn with his tractor. Eddy gets onto the window, angrily bangs against the window , and yells at Rolf to keep it down. Rolf, not knowing that he is disturbing Eddy, replies, "Good morning Eddy, nice haircut!". Rolf then moves the lever forward, so his tractor can go forward. Eddy angrily yells at Rolf to be quiet, but Rolf can't hear him. The mower then transitions the scene to Ed's house.
At Ed's house, Ed is shown sleeping in bed without a blanket. Ed gets up and shivers. Ed, in an attempt to avoid being cold, rolls the end of his mattress over himself to keep himself warm. This allows Ed to get back to sleep, but this also causes Ed's feet to break through his mattress.
At Edd's house, Edd is shown sleeping as his clock moves forward. After a while, Edd wakes up and turns on the lights. He then starts making his bed while grumbling to himself, "Messy, messy, messy!". After getting his blanket all straight and tidy, Edd grabs a giant iron and uses it to get rid of the wrinkles on the blanket. With the blanket all straight and tidy and void of wrinkles, Eddy looks carefully on the blanket and places a balance stick on the bed. The stick then shows to Edd that the covers are leveled which makes him happy.
Eddy is then shown walking on the sidewalk in his underwear and holding his pillow. After a while, Eddy states this will do before collapsing on the sidewalk and going back to sleep. Edd then walks by with a bag of newspapers while whistling. Edd says good morning to Eddy as he passes him. Edd then goes to Eddy and asks him why is he outside. Eddy wakes up and tells Edd to get out of his room. Edd tells Eddy he is outside and doing a paper route. Eddy yawns and asks why. Edd takes out a gigantic diagram of a microscope and explains to Eddy that he is saving his earnings for an electron microscope. Edd then explains that he only has $19,872.18 left to go. Eddy, rubbing his eyes, realizes how much money that Edd could make from just one paper route. He then grabs Edd and tells him, "If you can make that much money with one route, think of what you could make with five! Or fifty!". Edd protests, "But Eddy...", but Eddy tells him no buts as Ed will help him.
After Edd finishes his route, he goes into his room and hangs up his bag. He notes, "Another day, another nickel!". Edd goes over to his window and notes that it is a beautiful morning. However when he opens the curtains, he sees a lot of newspapers behind his window. Edd states, "Uh Oh!". He then hears and says "Huh?". The newspapers then burst through the window and flood Edd's room. Edd yells out, "Oh boy. Eddy!".
Ed is shown running down the sidewalk until he sees the large pile of newspapers. Ed tries to stop by screeching to a halt, but he does it too late, causing him to crash into the pile of newspapers. Ed tells Edd that he is sorry that he's late. Ed then peeks out of the newspapers and looks at the pile of newspapers from above. Ed notes that's cool. Edd, at this point, crawls out of the huge pile. Edd scratches his head and notes Eddy ordered too many papers. Ed then begins swimming around in the pile of newspapers. Edd asks Ed if he has seen Eddy. Ed says that Eddy is sleeping. Edd says Eddy promised to deliver these. He then requests Ed to retrieve Eddy for him. Ed salutes Edd and starts swimming backwards to go find Eddy, however he swims out of the newspaper pile while doing this, causing him to fall out of the pile. Ed states, "Ow, super!".
Ed is then shown dragging all the newspapers on a wagon, but he is having difficulties doing so. After a while, Ed stops and starts panting. It then shows that Eddy was sleeping in his bed with a pair of fuzzy dice in his ears as earplugs and that Eddy's bed was on top of the pile. Eddy, at this point, wakes up. He then stretches and yawns before removing the fuzzy dice earplugs out of his ears. He then gets out of bed, causing him to fall from a great height(an elevator ding is heard many times as he falls). Eddy then falls flats on the ground, Eddy then gets up and says "Hey!". He then looks at the newspaper pile and says "Cha-ching!" as he sees the pile as the things the Eds will use to get cash(in Eddy's view of the newspaper pile, the newspaper pile turns into a pile of dollar bill signs). Eddy tells Ed, who is holding a couple of newspapers, to shake a leg as these papers need a home and the Eds need jawbreakers. Edd then climbs down from the pile and Eddy asks where was he. Edd points out to Eddy he didn't make his bed. Eddy then slaps his face and groans in frustration.
The trio now begin delivering papers around the neighborhood. Edd runs on over to a house and quickly dusts the welcome mat. Edd then places a paper on the mat. Edd then sees the paper is crooked which he is not happy about. Edd thinks for a moment before turning the paper so it is properly aligned. Edd then runs on over back to the pile to get a newspaper. While he is doing that, Ed carries the pile of newspapers he had just collected to a nearby house. Ed then opens the mailbox and stuffs the newspaper into it. After a while, it shows that the back of the mailbox broke when Ed put too many papers into it. This causes a large pile of newspapers to stack up behind the mailbox. After Ed finishes putting newspapers in, he turns the red flag of the mailbox up and says, "Read all about it!" before going back to the newspaper pile. Eddy is shown wearing sunglasses and getting a tan through a three sided mirror. Edd runs by and tells Eddy to be careful as he might burn.
After getting to a house, Edd puts his finger in his mouth and takes it out. He then thinks for a moment before calculating on the plan he makes on delivering the next newspaper. After a while, he smiles, knowing that it will work now. Edd then takes a newspaper out and tosses into the small newspaper hole on the door. It then goes through the hole and inside the house. Edd states, "Correct!" while clenching his fist in triumph. Meanwhile Ed has gotten to another house. He tries to open the gate door, but it's locked. Ed scratches his head for a moment before placing the newspaper in his mouth and holding it with his teeth. Ed then backs away and charges forward. At the last second, Ed jumps over the gate door and although he gets to the other side, his pants get stuck onto one of the points on the gate door. Ed tries to go forward, but he can't due to his pants being stuck. Ed's pants then tug him backwards, causing him to crash into the gate door while hanging upside down. Right when Edd is about to deliver another newspaper, he hears Ed yelling, "Help! I'm stuck!". Edd rushes on over to where Ed was yelling at. Edd knocks on the gate door before opening, which causes Ed to smack into the fence. Edd yells out to Ed by calling his name. He then asks Ed where is he. Edd then hears growling and becomes terrified. When Edd looks down, he sees a dog below his feet. Edd tells the dog to go away while using his hands to shoo the dog away. The dog, upon smelling Edd, opens its mouth wide and bites Edd's socks. Edd, freaked out, says, "Oh dear! Not my socks!". Edd yells at the dog to get off while he tries to shake the dog off of him. Ed is then shown to still be stuck on the gate door and he then proceeds in trying to get off.
Eddy, who is reading a newspaper, snickers at an article and says, "Yeah right!". Ed calls out to Eddy by saying his name. Eddy lowers his newspaper and tosses it away. Ed is shown without his pants and with a newspaper still stuck in his mouth. Eddy laughs and asks Ed where is his pants. Edd is then shown still trying to get the dog off of his socks. Ed replies to Eddy with nonsensical gibberish due to the newspaper still being stuck in his mouth. Eddy takes the paper out of Ed's mouth and tells him don't eat the profit. Eddy walks to a good location and tells Ed, "Let me show you how it's done, chicken legs.". Eddy goes to a house and prepares to throw the newspaper by stretching his fingers and taking the right stance. Eddy then tosses the newspaper, but the newspaper falls apart into many sheets that land on the ground. Eddy gives up and tells Ed he's pooped. Edd suddenly comes in all beaten up from his encounter with the dog from earlier. Eddy tells Ed that they need an easier way of delivering these papers. They then turn to Edd. Edd then tells his friends to let him solve their problems.
At Edd's garage, Ed is shown looking at a watering can while Eddy is waiting for Edd to be done. Edd asks if the device is ready. Edd slides right to his friends on a roller and states to Eddy that he is happy with it. Eddy goes over to the invention. Ed then grabs Edd's hat and throws him away, claiming he is happy for Eddy too. Ed gets fascinated by the device Edd made. Ed asks if it works and tries to touch it, but Eddy slaps his hand away and tells him don't touch it. Eddy shoves Ed away and rolls the device outside, telling his friends that they should go. Edd follows Eddy, saying that's a good idea.
The Eds are shown outside with the newspaper shooter. While Ed is running around the newspaper pile, Eddy tells Edd, to "let 'er rip". Edd turns the newspaper on and drops a newspaper into the slot. The newspaper shooter then shoots the newspaper to a house's front door all rolled up. Eddy and Edd both declare that it works. Ed then dives into the hole of the newspaper shooter. This causes it to shoot Ed to the house's door all rolled up. Ed states, "Oops!" before laughing.
Ed is then shown tossing newspapers into the newspaper shooter. He stops for a brief moment and looks down before going back to tossing newspapers. The newspaper shooter, in the meantime, is shooting newspapers to mailboxes, front doors, and into chimneys. Eddy states he can already taste those jawbreakers. Edd makes a diagram through an Etch-a-Sketch and states to Eddy they should be done in no time. As Edd and Eddy watch the progress of the newspaper shooter, Eddy notes this is so cool. Eddy questions how does he come up with this stuff. Ed then holds Eddy's bed up and states he thinks it's heavy ink before tossing the bed into the hole of the newspaper shooter. Edd says, "Oh dear!" and Eddy states, "My bed!". Ed comes out of the pile and states it's too early for bed. He then looks down and gets freaked out at what's going on below. Ed jumps out of the pile and tries to get the bed to fully go into the shooter's hole by jumping on it. The bed goes in, but then the newspaper shooter's hole blasts air upwards, causing Ed to blast high into the air. The newspaper then shoots papers in all directions and at high velocities.
Edd and Eddy get freaked out by the machine malfunctioning. The machine is shown breaking a window and denting a lamppost. Edd and Eddy run around to avoid the flying papers. Eddy says, "Take cover!", but then he and Edd crash into each other. Edd and Eddy question each other where should they hide. Eddy grabs Edd's hat and pulls it over him. Eddy then tells Edd to let him in as he goes inside Edd's hat. Ed, riding the malfunctioning newspaper, yells at Edd and Eddy for help. Edd and Eddy lift up the hat to see what's going on. Eddy yells, "Ed!" before going after Ed to help him. Edd, holding onto to his hat and following Eddy, yells to Eddy to be careful with his hat. Ed yells for help. Eddy tells Ed to hold on while Edd follows him. Ed sees something ahead and states, "Uh-Oh!". Kevin is shown riding his bike when Ed yells at Kevin to look out. Kevin turns around and states, "Huh?" before he gets hit by a newspaper, causing him to be sent flying. Ed states, that was a nice shot. Edd and Eddy are still following Ed. Ed states he is getting very dizzy. Eddy states to Ed they are coming. Ed screams until the machine hits the sidewalk, causing Ed to be sent flying as well as causing the machine to break down. Before it shuts off, it shoots yet another newspaper.
At Jimmy's backyard, Sarah and Jimmy are shown playing skip rope. Jimmy tells Sarah to look while he is having fun. Sarah states to Jimmy that's perfect. The shot newspaper then hits Sarah in the foot. She then turns around and sees the paper. She then looks at Ed and becomes angry. Sarah angrily yells at Ed, "Ed! You hit me and I'm telling Mom!". Edd and Eddy, at this point, have now finally caught up with Ed. Ed quickly picks up the newspaper and stuffs it into his mouth, stating it's all gone now. Eddy tells Ed to forget he while Edd removes his hat off of Eddy's head. Eddy then tells Ed to think of all the money they are going to rake in. Edd looks behind the gang and tells his friends they will have to clean this up. It then shows the Cul-de-Sac wrecked up and covered in newspapers. Eddy states, "Yeah right Why?" while Ed is chewing up the newspaper. Edd states they won't receive payment unless the newspapers are properly delivered. Eddy says, "All right! All right!" before he takes Ed(who is still eating the newspaper) with him, so that they can clean up the newspaper mess.
The Eds begin cleaning up the newspapers. Eddy notes, "It doesn't get any worse than...", but then Eddy gets cut off by a lightning strike. A rainstorm then starts which the Eds all notice. Eddy finishes his sentence by saying "...this.". Eddy yells at Ed to quit fooling around. Ed is shown jumping up and down on a puddle. Some of the puddle water then spashes at Eddy causing his hair to get in his face. Eddy gets angry and slicks his hair back, but ink gets on his face. Ed laughs and states he has black stuff on him. Eddy demands where. Ed states, "Here, here, and here!" while placing his hands on his own face to show Eddy where the black stuff is, which causes the ink to get on Ed's face. Edd tells his friends to come on and clean and fold up the newspapers. One newspaper that Edd gets then dissolves away into ink which shocks Edd. Edd yells at the ink to get off of his hands. Edd runs forward and yells, "Get it! Get it off!", but he then crashes into his friends knocking them down. As the Eds gets worn out, the rain stops. Edd states, "Summer rains, you can never predict them.". However this causes another lightning bolt to strike which causes the rainstorm to come about again.
The Eds are shown still cleaning up the newspapers, but they are now putting them in bags to avoid them getting too wet. Eventually the rain stops. Edd notes, "Summer rains, you can never...", but Edd gets cut off by lightning and then the rainstorm comes back again. Edd finishes his sentence by saying "...predict them.". The rain then stops again. Edd once again states, "Summer rains...", but Eddy, who has become really annoyed by the rain being caused by Edd's words, yells at Edd in an angry and annoyed tone, "Double D!". At this point, a truck with a large amount of newspapers comes by. As it prepares to drop the newspapers at where the Eds are, Ed and Edd become shocked while a freaked out Eddy tries to signal the driver to not dump the newspapers, but it's too late and the large stack of newspapers are dropped on the Eds, burying them in it. Ed, reading a newspaper, tells his friends, "Hey my horoscope!". Ed reads his horoscope(it was 'New Enterprise fails to meet expectations'), but then he questions his friends what does it mean. The episode then irises in on the newspaper pile.
